General Directions
Listed below are a number of directions that may be helpful to you whilst on holiday and to get you to and from the airports. Please print out and take a copy with you on holiday as it could save you a day by not getting lost! Lisbon Airport to Praia D'El Rey Resort
When you come out of the airport car park you have to turn right and almost immediately you will see that you can go straight on or take a left fork under a tunnel. Go under the tunnel and head out of Lisbon Airport.
Within a few hundred yards you approach a large roundabout with traffic lights. You need to take the very last turning off the roundabout (signposted A1 Norte) which means you have got to go nearly all the way round the roundabout. It is best to approach the roundabout in the middle lane and as you move around the roundabout gradually filter over to the right to ensure you can take the turning without having to cut across traffic.
Carry along this road straight through a set of traffic lights and filter onto the dual carriageway.
Within 1 km you will pick up signs for the IC 17. Take this turning off the dual carriageway and you will immediately see there is a fork. Take the left fork which takes you back over the dual carriageway and onto an urban motorway.
Within a kilometre or so you will go through a big tunnel and almost immediately after coming out of the tunnel you need to turn right (signposted A8).
Go down the hill and filter (with care) onto the A8.
Keep on this motorway for approximately 73kms picking up signs for Torres Vedras, Lourinha, Bombarral, Peniche, Obidos and Caldas Da Rainha. Leave at exit 14 signed Peniche onto the IP 6. (Ignore signs for exit 13 to Praia D'El Rey as they are old signs) Exit 14 is only 100 yards after the exit 13 turn-off.
Follow the road round onto the IP 6 towards Peniche. Go along the dual-carriageway for around 4 kms and take the exit to the right signposted Serra D'El Rei. Filter on to the roundabout and from there you will pick up signs to the Golfe and Praia D'El Rey. Take the 2nd exit off the roundabout and enter Serra D'El Rey.
Drive slowly through the village and turn right at the traffic lights in the centre of the village where you will see a large blue panel indicating Praia D’El Rey. Follow this road for 1.5kms and take a right turn signed Praia D’El Rey. Follow this road for 4 kms, which will bring you to the resort main entrance.
